Lasallian Medal

Each April, Lewis University recognizes faculty, staff, students, and community partners with several prestigious Lasallian Awards, which honor their commitment to the Catholic and Lasallian Mission and core values of the University.

The Mission Recognition and Awards Committee of the Mission and Heritage Council is responsible for reviewing nominations from the University community and selecting honorees.

 LASALLIAN AWARDS FOR FACULTY AND STAFF

  • The De La Salle Medallion for Exemplary Volunteer Service [ + ]

    This award individually honors a faculty and staff member who performs outstanding volunteer service at ÌðÐÄÖ±²¥ or in his or her community.

  • The De La Salle Medallion for Excellence in Community Engagement [ + ]

    This award honors a faculty member who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in engaging Lewis students in community-based learning.

  • The Distinguished Lasallian Educator Award [ + ]

    Presented since 1993, the Distinguished Lasallian Educator Award honors a faculty or staff member who exemplifies the ideals of Saint John Baptist de La Salle in his or her work at the University to foster Gospel values in the lives of faculty, staff and students. This is one of the University’s most prestigious awards.

 LASALLIAN AWARDS FOR STUDENTS

  • The De La Salle Medallion for Excellence in Interfaith Cooperation [ + ]

    The De La Salle Medallion for Excellence in Interfaith Cooperation honors a student who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and joined with others on campus and in the surrounding community in the work of interfaith dialogue and cooperation.

  • The De La Salle Medallion for Excellence in Justice Advocacy [ + ]

    The De La Salle Medallion for Excellence in Justice Advocacy is awarded to a student who demonstrates an outstanding commitment to the promotion of justice and seeks to engage others in working toward addressing injustices.

  • The De La Salle Medallion for Excellence in Service and Community Engagement [ + ]

    The De La Salle Medallion for Excellence in Service and Community Engagement is awarded to a ÌðÐÄÖ±²¥ student who works with community organizations to meet needs and invites others to be more involved with their community.

  • The De La Salle Medallion for Excellence in the Promotion of Intentional Faith [ + ]

    The De La Salle Medallion for Excellence in the Promotion of Intentional Faith is awarded to a ÌðÐÄÖ±²¥ student who demonstrates excellence in promoting intentional personal faith among her/his peers through involvements, leadership opportunities, and conversations.

 LASALLIAN AWARD FOR COMMUNITY PARTNERS

The De La Salle Medallion for Excellence in Community Partnership

This award honors a community-based organization which has demonstrated outstanding collaboration with ÌðÐÄÖ±²¥ through curricular and co-curricular community engagement.
