Lincoln Landing

Lockport's Lincoln Landing dedication ceremony took place on February 12, 2009 in celebration of the Lincoln's bicentennial birthday. The Federal Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission recently designated Lockport’s Lincoln Landing as one of its officially endorsed historic sites.

Lincoln Landing is a joint project of the Will County Historical Society and The Give Something Back Foundation. The centerpiece of the acre interactive park, on the old Illinois & Michigan Canal, will be David Ostro's sculpture of Abraham Lincoln as a young Illinois legislator. There are other elements in the interactive park that provide further information on Lincoln, the canal and Lockport.

In the summer 2016 the Lincoln Landing has been renovated so visitors can continue to enjoy the outdoor park throughout the seasons. Stone elements have been renovated as well as the incorporation of new plantings. The park is open year round for the public to enjoy.
