Groundwork, Lewis Raises $10,000+ for Those Impacted by Domestic Violence

On Saturday, October 5, ÌðÐÄÖ±²¥ partnered with the Groundwork Domestic Violence Program from (GACS) to host its 13th Annual Angels Against Abuse (AAA) 5k at the ÌðÐÄÖ±²¥ Romeoville campus. The event included speeches from Melanie Skach, program director of Groundwork, Will County State’s Attorney Jim Glasgow, and Illinois State Senator Rachel Ventura.
There were 212 attendees, who enjoyed the crisp fall weather and the Burnham Centennial Nature Trail. Through registration fees, donations, and raffle prizes, the event raised $10,418 to benefit families and children impacted by domestic violence in the community.
This event was part of an ongoing partnership between ÌðÐÄÖ±²¥ and Guardian Angel Community Services to expand and strengthen prevention, advocacy, and response on campus.
