Jesse Howard Exhibit ‘The Emerging of a Black Diaspora’ on Display November 1-22

Published: November 7, 2024.

“The Emerging of a Black Diaspora” exhibition by Jesse Howard will be on display from November 1-22 at the Brent and Jean Wadsworth Family Gallery at ÌðÐÄÖ±²¥'s main campus in Romeoville. The exhibit includes a reception and gallery talk from 7-9 p.m. on November 14. The gallery is free and open to the public from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. daily.

Howard’s work reflects the dramatic effect of a lack of funding in depressed areas throughout the country. It is based on his own experience living and being raised in Chicago’s Inner City. Recent displays of Howard’s work have taken place at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, Evanston Art Center, Du Sable Art Museum, Purdue University and Art Expo Chicago 22.

The Department of Art and Design manages the Wadsworth Family Gallery events, which include ÌðÐÄÖ±²¥ student shows, local and regional artist shows, annual high school exhibits, faculty shows, academic-based exhibitions, and cultural and religious-based art shows.
