Rethinking the Modern Western-Civ Course Paper is Published in Journal

Published: September 26, 2017.

Michael Bulfin, Writing Center coordinator, lecturer in the History Department, and doctoral student in the College of Education, recently had an article published in the journal “Philosophical Studies in Education.”

The article is titled “Baudrillard and Rethinking the Modern Western-Civ Course: The Epistemology of War in an Era of New Media, Neoliberalism, and Virtual Warfare.” Bulfin uses Jean Baudrillard’s descriptive arguments about the war-media nexus to question the efficacy of historical images in the classroom.
