Cremin Speaks at Schaumburg Public Library’s Chicagoland: Read All About It Program

Published: August 4, 2020.

Dr. Denis H. Cremin, chair and professor of history, is speaking at 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 12 as part of the Schaumburg Public Library’s “Chicagoland: Read All About It” program.

He first spoke a few years ago on, Grant Park: The Evolution of Chicago’s Front Yard, which is a scholarly publication. This time he will deliver a virtual presentation on, Chicago: A Pictorial Celebration, which is a popular tourism book. Cremin worked with photographer Elan Penn and editor J.E. Sigler, both in Israel. The publication uses architecture and monuments to illustrate Chicago’s history. Cremin hopes that some may go out and explore some of these sites, or check out the book and take an armchair tour.
