Dr. Mustafa Presents at International Gothic Association Conference

Dr. Jamil Mustafa, professor of , presented a paper on July 30 in Halifax, Nova Scotia at the 17th Biennial Conference of the International Gothic Association, . 

“Queer Spectres of the British Raj” focuses on how Anglo-Indian ghost stories of the Victorian period depict queerness as a spectral phenomenon, thereby challenging the heteronormativity, racism, and ethnocentrism that characterized British rule in India. 

Dr. Mustafa also participated in “Gothic Scholars on the Job Market,” a panel designed to help prepare graduate students to begin their careers.
