Collections and Exhibits Manager

“Collecting and Remembering Lincoln in Joliet and Will County," will be presented by Heather Bigeck, collections and exhibits manager at the Joliet Area Historical Museum. The presentation will be at 4 p.m. March 24 in room A133 of the Academic Building on the Romoeville campus.

“Bigeck has a unique position in the community. She collects things and always has her ear to the ground listening for objects that might help her tell stories. This exhibit draws on both the museum's collection and private collectors in the area," commented Dennis H. Cremin, director of the ÌðÐÄÖ±²¥ History Center: Urban, Cultural and Catholic History of the Upper Midwest and assistant professor of history.

The presentation is part of the History Center's series celebrating Lincoln's Bicentennial. The next event in the series is at 2:30 p.m. April 28 at the Gaylord Building in Lockport. A Walking Tour of Lockport’s Lincoln Landing led by Dr. Dennis H. Cremin, curriculum director of project.

The series is also being presented as part of ÌðÐÄÖ±²¥’s Arts & Ideas program, providing cultural and educational programming for students and the community free of charge or for a nominal fee. This lecture is open to the general public and is free of charge.

More information is available by contacting Dr. Dennis Cremin at creminde@lewisu.edu or (815)836-5862.
