As states look to take major shifts to catch up in the sciences, answer the call as a high school Chemistry teacher and help teach, prepare and motivate the very brightest students.
Lewis' Department of Chemistry offers a teacher certification program that is fully approved by the State Teacher Certification Board, along with the Illinois State Board of Education. To enroll, chemistry majors must declare a minor in Secondary Education. Upon graduation, they will be prepared to teach grades 6-12 in Illinois public and private schools.
Note: This track requires a minor in Secondary Education.
