Mission

The mission of the ÌðÐÄÖ±²¥ Honors Program is to foster a vibrant community of leaders and innovators who exemplify the Lewis Mission through their personal and professional endeavors. We are dedicated to nurturing curious, creative, critical thinkers who embrace lifelong learning and strive to make a meaningful impact on society.

First Year Students

Admission Requirements

  • High school or College GPA of 3.3 or higher
  • Completion of the LU Honors Program Application
  • Contact information for one recommending instructor

Program Requirements

  • Required Courses (4 credits)
    • Honors Interdisciplinary Seminar (3 credits)
    • Honors Senior Seminar (1 credit)
  • Elective Courses (12 credits)

Any combination of

  • Honors designated courses OR
  • Contract courses        
  • High Impact Experience with reflective essay
    • Study Abroad OR
    • Travel Study OR
    • Scholarly presentation or performance
  • Co-curricular
    • Participate in at least two Honors approved activities per semester, (at least 16 total)
    • Submit the required reflection questionnaire after each event
  • Maintain a 3.3 GPA

Transfer & Current Lewis Students (with 30+ Credit Hours)

Admission

  • College GPA of 3.3 or higher
  • Completion of the LU Honors Program Application
  • Contact information for one recommending instructor

    • Honors Senior Seminar (1 credit)

  • Honors designated courses OR
  • Contract courses

    • Study Abroad OR
    • Travel Study OR
    • Scholarly presentation or performance
  • Co-curricular
    • Participate in at least two Honors approved activities per semester (at least 8 total)
    • Submit the required reflection questionnaire after each event
  • Maintain a 3.3 GPA

All students who complete these requirements will receive the Honors designation on their diploma and transcript. They will also be recognized as Honors graduates in the Commencement program and with a medal to wear during the ceremony.
