ADMISSION & APPLICATION
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Students applying for admission to the Online M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology (MSSLP) program at Lewis must meet the following admission criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD), or bachelor’s degree in another field of study plus prerequisite CSD coursework, including completed coursework in:
- Anatomy and physiology of communication and hearing mechanisms
- Speech and/or hearing science
- Normal development of speech, language, and hearing
- Phonetics
- Per ASHA certification standards for SLPs, all applicants must have taken one course in each of the following content areas. Each course must be outside the CSD major:
- Statistics (stand-alone course, any academic department)
- Biological science, related to human or animal science (biology, anatomy/physiology, neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, human genetics, veterinary science)
- Physical science (chemistry, physics)
- Social science (psychology, sociology)
- Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0 for full admission, or 2.75 for provisional admission
- Minimum major GPA of 3.0 (in all CSD/SLP courses; minimum of four completed courses at time of consideration)
- Virtual interview, by invitation, based on review of application
