Si Se Puede Conference - Overview

Si Se Puede Conference

The Si Se Puede Conference is designed to celebrate Hispanic American Heritage Month and provide students with a tool kit tools for educational success. This annual event is a collaboration by ÌðÐÄÖ±²¥ Faculty, Staff, Students and the community.

In 2002, Lewis University sought and received a 3M Vision Grant focused on Emerging Directions in Latnix Leadership. The design of the research involved community leaders, professors, university staff, graduate students, undergraduates, and high school aged youth in search of key issues impacting Latnix leadership and the implementation of an action plan.

The Conference was named after the phrase ¡Si Se Puede! or Yes You Can! This motto exclaimed by civil rights leaders Dolores Huerta and Cesar E. Chavez to motivate the migrant farmworkers in their pursuit of civil rights and improved working conditions.
